In order to help the whole school establish the concept of garbage classification and improve the environmental awareness of teachers and students, under the guidance of the school Logistics Management Office, on the afternoon of May 13, the College of Environmental Science and Engineering successfully undertook the "Practice of new fashion, Low carbon I first" lecture on domestic garbage classification at the University City Campus. The lecture invited Su Xiaojing, a member of Guangzhou Liwan District waste classification propaganda group and member of Guangdong Waste Treatment Industry Association, to be the keynote speaker. Mr. Tan Jingkang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, Mr. Lai Rongjin, Section chief of the Logistics Management Office, representatives of property supervisors, resident managers of Broadcasting Property Company and AVIC Property Company, cleaning supervisors, staff representatives and student representatives attended the lecture, which was presided over by counselor Zhang Ke.
At the lecture, Su Xiaojing focused on specific policy documents such as "Interim Measures for the Assessment of Guangzhou Municipal Solid Waste Classification and Treatment Work" and "Guangzhou Municipal solid Waste Classification and Treatment Work Assessment Plan in 2022", introduced the detailed rules, configuration and work flow of garbage classification to the students, and also carried out a detailed science popularization on the principles and precautions of campus solid waste classification. Lai Rongjin, chief of the Logistics Management Department, introduced the beautiful campus construction project carried out by the school to the students, and the host encouraged the students to integrate knowledge and action in daily life, and return the environmental protection knowledge and concept learned in the lecture to life practice. The atmosphere was lively and the students responded warmly.
It is reported that as the "Provincial Campus solid waste classification Education base" recognized by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, our school has always attached great importance to the classification of campus solid waste, and the construction of ecological civilization has been included as an important part of the construction of a high-level university. The Implementation Plan for Further Promoting the Classification of Domestic Waste in Guangdong University of Technology was promulgated, and the Guidelines for the Classification of domestic Waste on Campus of Guangdong University of Technology were compiled and issued. Next, the College will continue to cooperate with the Logistics Management Office, relying on the professional characteristics of the college and the school education base platform, and continue to promote the construction of green campus.
