On September 22-24, 2023, a representative team of teachers and students from the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, led by Associate Professors Zhang Xiaochun and Zhuang Guanzheng, went to Guangdong Petrochemical University to participate in the first "Jiean Cup" Safety Science and Engineering Professional Skills Competition in the South China region. They won one first prize, two second prizes, and two third prizes; Among them, Lin Chuangyao, a 2020 undergraduate student majoring in safety engineering, won the first prize in the South China region and advanced to the national competition. In addition, Zhang Xiaochun and Zhuang Guanzheng, two teachers, also represented the college in the synchronous seminar on the construction and development of undergraduate majors in safety science and engineering in the South China region, introducing the achievements and experiences of our college in the construction of safety engineering disciplines and undergraduate education.
The "Jiean Cup" Safety Science and Engineering Professional Skills Competition is a national competition organized by the National Academic Annual Conference Committee of Safety Engineering in Higher Education Institutions and the Guidance Committee of Safety Science and Engineering in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, hosted by Shandong University of Science and Technology, and co organized by Zhengzhou Jiean High tech Co., Ltd. Its purpose is to guide, support, and motivate college students to carry out scientific and technological innovation activities, cultivate their innovative spirit and exploratory consciousness, Enhance professional practical skills. The competition in the South China region is hosted by Guangdong University of Petrochemical Technology.
