On the evening of November 19th, the 2023 undergraduate welcome party, jointly organized by the School of Environmental Science and Engineering and the School of Integrated Circuits, was grandly held at the Cultural Activity Center. Yu Yingxin, Vice Dean of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Shi Yujie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Integrated Circuits, Cai Jier, General Manager of Guangzhou Mana Yoga Co., Ltd., Qiu Zengfeng, New Student Counselor and New Student Class Teacher representatives from Guangzhou Zengxin Technology Co., Ltd. watched the evening party together with the new students, enjoying the audio-visual feast.
Shi Yujie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Integrated Circuits, gave a speech on stage and warmly welcomed the arrival of students in the 2023 cohort. He encouraged students to hold onto their dreams and be down-to-earth during their university years, daring to think, work, and succeed, and aspire to become good young people in the new era who have ideals, are willing to take responsibility, can endure hardship, and are willing to work hard.
This welcome party is divided into three chapters: "Farewell to the Old and Welcome to the New", "Youth Dancing", and "Setting Sail". The opening dance "Rejuvenating the Bliss" kicked off the welcome party. In the chapter of "Farewell to the Old and Welcome to the New", students from the 2023 Environmental Science Innovation Class adapted a singing and dancing program called "I Still Have a Little Happy Time" to help freshmen relive their childhood memories; "The Rose in the Palm" reminds everyone of their youthful and unforgettable memories, encouraging new students to embrace a brand new university life with moving songs. In the chapter of "Youth Dance", alumni Cai Jier brings a wonderful yoga performance to encourage new students to strengthen their physical exercise and physical fitness to face more unknown challenges, and achieve comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor. "Sisi Xi" and "Little Town Girl" respectively use ethnic and Western instruments as accompaniment. The actors present beautiful songs to the audience with full enthusiasm and youthful confidence, fully demonstrating their love for campus and life. The atmosphere on site is lively and climaxing.
Youth comes naturally, and struggle is just right. The powerful dance "Fighting!" and the solo "Backlight" brought the evening party into a chapter of "Dream Setting Sail", bringing strong energy to the new students, encouraging them to pursue their dreams, live in the sunshine, and continue to struggle in the journey of the new era. The recitation "Chasing Dreams and Setting Sail - To Guangzhou University of Technology" brought by the new graduate students of our college tells the story of the glorious years of Guangzhou workers striving for their dreams, inspiring generations of Guangzhou students to uphold the school motto of "unity, diligence, seeking truth, and innovation", and contributing to the development of Guangzhou University of Technology. The evening of "Tomorrow Will Be Better", brought by the 2023 freshmen counselor, representatives of freshmen, and previous top ten singer champions, will once again reach its climax. We wish all freshmen a promising future and a bright future.
This is a wonderful and exciting night, and I believe it will always be a bright spot in the college life of 2023 freshmen in the future! The vast sea allows fish to leap, and the sky allows birds to fly. They are bound to step on the waves and embark on a dream journey at Guangzhou University of Technology, lighting up their dreams for tomorrow.
