In order to strengthen the ideological and theoretical literacy and policy level of students, guide them to cultivate patriotism, establish ecological civilization awareness, and improve professional confidence, on October 13th, Vice President Professor Luan Tiangang gave a lecture on the situation and policy of "Unswerving patriotism and environmental protection talents standing tall" to 2020 undergraduate students in Building 3, 207 of our university.
Principal Luan first reviewed the development process of the country in environmental protection from the perspective of national policies and actions, with a focus on interpreting the content and measures of "accelerating the reform of the ecological civilization system and building a beautiful China" since the report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Subsequently, President Luan talked about the establishment process of our university, summarizing the characteristics of Guangdong University of Technology as "big", "real", "special", and "fast", as well as the red genes present on our campus. President Luan analyzed the development trend of the environmental discipline, as well as the hotspots of "carbon peak" and "carbon neutrality", in combination with the development of the environmental discipline, the disciplinary platform, scientific research platform, and academic atmosphere construction of the college. He clarified that the mission of China and even the world's ecological environment governance is glorious and arduous. He pointed out that students majoring in environment should establish professional confidence and have great potential in the future.
"Are they all graduation certificates of the same weight?" Principal Luan's question sparked deep thinking among the students.
