In order to help students master communication skills, improve mutual understanding, and create a harmonious and friendly relationship with the student community, the College conducted the 2023 Psychology Salon Series - Listening and Expression on the evening of 16th November in the Counselling Room of the College. The event was organised by the "Hand in Hand" Psychological Support Association.

At the beginning of the activity, the facilitator led the students in an interactive activity called "Origami", which is a simple but richly connotative activity to make them fully aware of the misunderstandings that may be caused by unidirectional communication. Afterwards, the facilitator guided the students to think about the importance of communication with the help of life cases. In a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, the students deeply realised the key role of communication in interpersonal communication. During the activity, students actively participated in the discussion and shared the problems they encountered in life and study due to miscommunication. All of them said that through this activity, they had a deeper understanding of communication and gained a lot.

The Heart Committee training enabled students to realise that communication is a bridge between hearts and minds, capable of eliminating misunderstandings and resolving conflicts. Learning to communicate means knowing how to be considerate and tolerant, thus making student community relations better. In their future study and life, students of the College of Environmental Science and Engineering will apply the communication skills they have learnt and strive to create a more harmonious atmosphere and add colours to their university life. The college will continue to organise various psychological activities to pay attention to the state of students' mental health, improve their psychological quality and guard their mental health.
