Student psychological work backbone is the bridge and link of psychological communication between students and an important role in the school's mental health education workforce. In order to effectively promote the understanding of the role of student psychological work backbone, improve the working ability and responsibility awareness of psychological crisis early warning, and better carry out peer psychological support, our college organised the skills training for student psychological work backbone in the afternoon of 10th November in the 208 Auditorium of the No.3 Hall of Engineering. This training was invited by the school's Mental Health Education Centre, Ms. Yanting Au as the guest speaker, presided over by Ms. Jiaqi Xiao, the psychological instructor of the college, and attended by all the class psychologists, dormitory psychologists, and psychologists of the laboratories of the college.
Ms Yanting Au carried out the training around the identification of crisis signals, common problems and case analyses, comforting methods and communication skills of psychological work backbones. She helped the psychological committee members to give full play to the power of peers, clarify their work responsibilities, provide more targeted psychological support for students, and at the same time, discuss in-depth the psychological methods and communication skills used in the psychological work of students.
Mr Xiao Jiaqi emphasised the job responsibilities of the psychological workforce, encouraging them to pay attention to the psychological dynamics of students, improve their ability to understand and respond to the psychological needs of students, and report the psychological situation of students in a timely manner, so as to provide a solid support to the students.
The college attaches great importance to students' mental health education, follows the law of students' physical and mental development, and ensures the practicability and effectiveness of mental health education. This training has made the backbone of student psychological work more clear about their job responsibilities, deeper understanding and thinking about the organisation and development of mental health education activities, and comprehensively improved the ability of the backbone of student psychological work to help themselves and identify common psychological problems. Further lead the majority of students to pay attention to physical and mental health, and lay a solid foundation for the college's mental health education work.
