To actively guide students to establish a correct worldview, outlook on life, and values, strive to create a good and harmonious learning atmosphere, guide students to pay attention to mental health and spiritual growth, and improve their own psychological quality. The School of Environmental Science and Engineering organized a series of activities for the Psychological Culture Festival - themed education on mental health for new students.

On the afternoon of October 11th, our college held a seminar on mental health education for teachers in Room 209 of Building 3 of the School of Engineering. The seminar was chaired by Tan Jingkang, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee, and attended by the new class teacher and college counselor.

The attending teachers collectively learned a series of psychological work training organized by the school's psychological center, focusing on specific aspects such as cognition, behavior, and self compassion. They then analyzed and discussed the psychological health status and future work directions of each new class in the 2023 cohort. This seminar effectively enhanced the psychological work ability of teachers, clarified the focus of work on the mental health of freshmen, and laid a solid foundation for the subsequent development of mental health education.

On the evening of October 12th, our college held a 2023 new student mental health themed education class meeting in the classroom of Building 2. The class teachers and counselors of each class attended the class meeting.

This class meeting was chaired by the psychological committee members of each class, who shared the psychological characteristics and difficulties faced by each new student class since enrollment. The focus was on the importance of mental health in college life, and combined with the main psychological problems of college students, healthy and positive solutions were proposed, calling on students to view psychological problems correctly and positively.

The homeroom teachers of each class summarized the content of the class meeting, encouraged students to face changes and growth directly, and provided special introductions and guidance on the mental health test for college students. Under the guidance of the class teacher and with the assistance of the class psychological committee and members of the college psychological association, the students completed the college student mental health test in an orderly and concentrated manner.

This mental health themed education provides timely psychological support and assistance for students who have just entered university life, enabling them to better cope with challenges and pressures, achieve role transformation, adapt to university life as soon as possible, and embrace university life with a positive attitude, achieving a better self in the next four years.
