In the golden autumn of September, the fragrance of osmanthus wafts. In this season of harvest, our college has welcomed new graduate students in the 2023 cohort. Our hospital attaches great importance to the work of enrollment education for new students and held a coordination meeting as soon as possible to discuss the enrollment education work plan. A series of enrollment education activities have been carried out from multiple aspects such as patriotism and love for the school, safety education, scientific research disciplines, and sunshine counseling, leading new students to understand the spirit of Guanggong and adapt to the new learning and scientific research environment as soon as possible, safeguarding their growth and success.

On the morning of September 4th, our institute first launched patriotic education and national security and confidentiality education activities for 2023 graduate students. Teacher Li Xin, a 2023 graduate student counselor, stated at the meeting that "inheriting the red gene and cultivating patriotic sentiments are important tasks given to young people by the times. We must uphold righteousness, uphold virtue, dare to take responsibility, and be willing to work hard, so that our youth can bloom brilliantly in the unremitting struggle for the motherland and the people." Finally, members of the graduate student union conducted an education on the school's situation and history, providing a detailed introduction to the history and development of our university since its 65th anniversary. With exciting videos and melodious school songs, they led the freshmen to deeply understand the school's philosophy and culture, showcasing the campus style of various Guangzhou University campuses.

Safety first, no deceit in the world
To comprehensively enhance the laboratory safety awareness of new students, on the morning of September 4th, Teacher Chen Ping conducted laboratory safety education and training for them. Education includes ideological education on laboratory safety, policy education, knowledge and technology education, excellent experience and typical accident education, and other aspects. Our hospital will integrate laboratory safety education into the talent cultivation process, educate and guide graduate students to improve their personal protective abilities and emergency response capabilities. At the same time, we also advocate for improving the level of laboratory safety management, providing safety guarantees for smooth and orderly teaching and research work.
In the first lesson on new student safety, Teacher Lv Qihua from the School Security Office was invited to provide anti fraud education for all graduate students. Teacher Lv introduced the theme of anti fraud education by citing the classic lines from the movie "All for One": "People have two hearts: one is greedy, and the other is unwilling." He warned new students to establish the correct "three views", maintain a clear and rational mind, learn to think independently, not be controlled by desires, and not be tempted by greed and unwillingness. At the same time, one should master anti fraud techniques, resist the temptation of money, and not be an accomplice to scammers. During the activity, Teacher Lv interacted and exchanged ideas with the new students, and through on-site explanations, analysis of fraudulent "tricks", anti fraud propaganda videos, small games, and other methods, helped the new students secure their enrollment.
Safety education is the foundation for improving safety literacy and achieving campus safety. Our hospital adheres to the concept of "safety is no small matter, prevention is in the bud, and safety is safe without danger", continuously deepening the education on laboratory safety and fraud prevention for students, and further creating a strong atmosphere of safety and anti fraud throughout the hospital.

In order to strengthen students' understanding of scientific research majors and increase their emphasis on academic ethics, our college conducted education on scientific research academic ethics and academic norms in Building 208 of Engineering No. 3 on the morning of September 8th. At the meeting, Professor Ji Yuemeng encouraged new students to be innovative, focus on scientific research, and actively participate in academic activities. He also explained the correct academic values and ethics to the new students, while advocating for them to adhere to academic integrity and create a good atmosphere for academic ethics construction.
The preface is always easy, the times are prosperous and new, the road of scientific research is long and arduous, and the stars are shining brightly. Dean Ji encourages the new graduate students in our college to meet and walk in the light of the light in the coming time, and encourages them to strive to be bold in thinking, good at thinking, diligent in doing, brave in trying, and actively exploring. Full of sunshine, welcoming life with a smile
In order to help freshmen better cope with the pressure of learning and life, and maintain mental health, on the morning of September 8th, the college invited Teacher Min Rong from the Mental Health Education and Counseling Center to provide mental health education for freshmen. Teacher Min provided professional explanations on the importance of mental health, common manifestations of psychological problems, and how to manage emotions. She also put forward several suggestions on how to adapt to graduate life, and introduced the practical and effective mental health services provided by our school for students.
In order to break the ice between the 2023 graduate students, reduce their unfamiliarity and distance, enhance team cohesion, and lay a foundation for peer assistance, our college actively organizes class meetings for each class. During the meeting, each class organized a variety of ice breaking activities with diverse forms, and students actively participated. The ice breaking activities were full of laughter and joy, and the new students truly felt "meeting you for the first time is like an old friend returning home" in a happy atmosphere.
