In order to accelerate the high-quality development of our college's professional construction and improve the overall level of disciplines, on January 16, our college held a seminar on the construction and development of our college in the second conference room of the lecture hall.Academician Tao Shu of Peking University, Academician He Kebin of Tsinghua University, Academician Wang Yanxin, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), Academician Wu Fengchang of Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences, Academician Zhu Li of Zhejiang University, Academician Zhu Tong of Peking University and Academician Zhu Yongguan of Chinese Academy of Sciences were invited to attend the meeting. In order to "consult the pulse" for the development of the discipline and make suggestions for the high-level construction of the college, the development trend and strategic suggestions of the college and the discipline were discussed together. Yu Lin, vice president of our school and all teachers of the college attended the meeting, and Ge Chang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College presided over the meeting.
In his speech, Vice President Yu Lin, on behalf of the school, extended warm welcome and thanks to the experts and scholars who attended the meeting. Subsequently, he gave a brief introduction to the discipline construction of the school. He said that the school would take the initiative to meet the major strategic needs of the country and the region, and on the basis of promoting the discipline upgrading project of the "1 + 2 + 3" climbing plan with high quality, make every effort to promote the construction of environmental disciplines, so as to gather new momentum and burst out new vitality for the discipline development of our school.
Professor An Taicheng, Dean of the College, briefly introduced the development of the discipline of environmental science and engineering, reported on the progress and achievements of the discipline construction in the past three years, and deeply analyzed the existing problems and future plans of the discipline from the aspects of undergraduate training, postgraduate education, scientific research innovation and platform construction. Subsequently, Professor Ning Xunan, Professor Yu Yingxin, Professor yuan Peng and Professor Gu Jianwei reported on the construction of environmental engineering, environmental science, safety engineering and environmental health micro-specialty in our Institute.
Experts and scholars had a heated discussion on the contents of the report, made brilliant and unique comments on the development strategy and construction planning of environmental science and engineering disciplines from different perspectives, and put forward many forward-looking and strategic implementation suggestions, which provided guidance for enhancing the academic influence of environment-related disciplines in our university and realizing the high-quality development of disciplines.
Finally, in his concluding remarks at the seminar, President An Taicheng said that the College would carefully sort out and fully absorb the valuable suggestions of experts and scholars, and actively implement them into the discipline construction and development of the College, striving to face the shortcomings of development and strive to enhance the hard power of the discipline.
In this expert seminar, experts and scholars put forward many valuable suggestions for the development of the college and disciplines from the development strategy level. For the development of the college, we will earnestly absorb the valuable suggestions of experts, continuously optimize the development path, and constantly improve the construction measures.
