In order to inspire the majority of students to draw wisdom and strength from a hundred years of party history, listen to the party, follow the party, and illuminate the road of progress with the light of party history, on the afternoon of 16 March, Yang Weiping, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, gave a wonderful "Civic and Political First Lesson" for the 2020 class with the theme of "Learning the 100 years of history of the Communist Party of China".
Secretary Yang Weiping led the students around the vein of the development of the Party's history, revisiting the major historical events in the four stages of development: the period of the New Democratic Revolution, the period of socialist revolution and construction, the new period of reform, opening up and socialist modernisation, and the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and recounting the main tasks and historical significance of the successive National Congresses, and the historical process of the Party's growth in which the Party has continuously explored the way forward, adhered to the truth, corrected its mistakes, and moved step by step towards a correct path of development.
Through this "Civics First Class", students understood the spirit of struggle of a hundred years of party history, felt the theoretical greatness of Marxism, and built the ideological foundation of faithfully defending the "two establishments" and resolutely doing the "two safeguards".
